About
Launched at Denmark's People's Summit in June 2024, the Alliance for Global Health is an politically independent advocacy platform that brings together civil society, the private sector, foundations, and research institutions to advance global health and reinforce Denmark’s leadership in the field. The Alliance is steered by a Secretariat hosted at Dalberg Media, which leads internal and external communications and activities in collaboration with strategic partners, and manages its membership of more than 15 Danish and international organizations.
The work of the Alliance spans across themes related to global health and focus on data and analysis; evidence-based advocacy; dialogue and awareness; and capacity building.
In 2024, the Alliance commissioned an expert group of eight leading Danish and international experts to develop thorough analysis with 19 actionable recommendations for Denmark’s future role in global health. Their report, A Prescription for Global Health in Denmark, was launched on December 5 at the Royal Library in Copenhagen, with 80 invited attendees and 140+ online viewers.
Dalberg Media supports the secretariat of the Alliance through activity-based project support, event management, political and economic analysis of development trends and report writing. Dalberg Media has furthermore developed the visual identity of the Alliance, centered around the 'letter A' to symbolize unity and direction, and developed its website to ensure a cohesive and inviting digital presence.
Denmark has both a moral imperative and a strategic interest in investing in global health. With a strong tradition in healthcare, a robust economy, and a thriving life sciences sector, Denmark has the capacity — and the responsibility — to contribute. It’s also a matter of self-interest, as cross-border health threats inevitably impact Denmark as well. As the saying goes, 'Nobody is safe until everyone is safe.’
