The African Development Bank (AfDB) and the African Guarantee Fund (AGF) signed a USD 250 million Risk Sharing agreement through the Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa (AFAWA), a pan-African initiative focused on unlocking up to USD 5 billion in financing for women-owned SMEs. Supported by a USD 25 million technical assistance grant, this agreement strengthens the capacity of financial institutions to better serve women-led businesses and enhance the bankability of women entrepreneurs.
Dalberg Media was engaged by AGF to support the AFAWA Finance Series, a flagship initiative designed to introduce African Finance Ministers, Central Bank Governors, Financial Regulatory Bodies, and Financial Institutions to a new partnership set that increases financial inclusion for women-led enterprises across Africa. We supported the Series in Ghana, Angola, and South Africa, providing end-to-end event management, media engagement, and content development services. Our work included managing logistics, securing media coverage, facilitating regional media interviews, and crafting messaging to maximise media and social engagement.
