About
The inaugural African-Nordic Health Summit 2026 is a first-in-kind platform to strengthen and advance African–Nordic health collaboration. The Summit is committed to bring together actors that can deliver tangible, innovative and catalytic outcomes for health for everyone, everywhere.
The first Summit will take place on 22 January 2026 at Norrsken House in Stockholm, Sweden, convening high-level leaders across the two regions and sectors, who share a strategic commitment to more equitable and resilient health systems. The purpose of the Summit is to forge mutually beneficial partnerships that deliver measurable impact, strengthen health systems, and contribute to strengthening Africa’s health sovereignty, in line with the Accra Reset and other central strategies from both regions.
The thematics in 2026 will focus on an area that remains highly underprioritized: maternal, reproductive, and newborn health, and the disproportionate effect of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) on women.
The Summit is co-organized by the Group of Women African Ambassadors to the Nordics, the Maternity Foundation, Dalberg Media, and the Danish Alliance for Global Health, in partnership with Ferring Pharmaceuticals, the Global Financing Facility, Laerdal Global Health, and the World Diabetes Foundation.

“The health challenges we face today demand bold, collective action. By bringing together African and Nordic partners in an open and equal dialogue, we can move beyond promises and deliver concrete solutions that improve lives and strengthening health systems across both regions”
- Dr. Diane Gashumba, Ambassador of Rwanda to the Nordics and Dean of Women African Ambassadors accredited to Sweden
