About
The Africa Development Bank, and the African Guarantee Fund (AGF) signed a Risk Sharing agreement of USD 250 million through the Affirmative Finance Action for Women in Africa (AFAWA), a pan-African initiative of the African Development Bank with the goal of unlocking up to USD 5 billion in financing for Women SMEs in Africa through financial institutions. The Risk Sharing Facility is supported by a USD 25 million technical assistance grant to AGF to enhance the capacity of financial institutions benefiting from the facility to better address the needs of women SMEs as well as assist women entrepreneurs in increasing their bankability.
The AFAWA Finance Series is a flagship initiative designed to introduce African Finance Ministers, Central Bank Governors, Financial Regulatory Bodies, and Financial Institutions to a new partnership set that increases financial inclusion for women-led enterprises across Africa.
Dalberg Media was engaged to support the AGF team with PR, media engagement and content development for the Ghana and Angola launch events. Our support involved securing media coverage; in-country and regional media interviews and providing content direction throughout each event series; creating and identifying content opportunities for media engagement and social media as well as recommending positioning messaging.
